Initially, this text box shows the wording 'Ways'. If you click on it, the Streets List matching the current image will appear with the 1st street of the list selected and the image centered on it. The name and the length of the selected street are displayed in the title bar. A double click or 'Enter' on a street name will have the same effect.
When the streets list is hidden (by right click on the text box ) to clear the image view, you can call the next street by a simple click on the zone name. To make the list reappear, right click again on this text box.
Displays all the roads of Bx and Suburbs. At program start-up, the list can be directly loaded by pressing the 'Space' bar. This option activates the submenu 'Move List' (see below). A double click on the text box is faster than the menu to have access to the = >
This menu is greyed when a global view is displayed, it is activated in the case of detailed pictures , including vectorial maps of 'Mériadeck' and 'Grand Parc'(see Zone Menu). Only the streets displayed in the current image appear in the list. Following street names, abbreviations are those of the suburbs (see below). This option activates the submenu 'Streets of the Zone'.
A double click on the text box gives access to the = >
The menu remains greyed until the previous menu is activated. When only the streets of one of the zones are listed, the list is placed to the left of the screen. By clicking on the zone name , you can successively go from one street to another with a minimum scrolling of the image, keeping the centre of the called street visible. The selected street is marked by a flickering . With 'TAB', you can list the streets of the next zone (the list must be hidden). A unique way to explore a neighborhood !
Streets of Bordeaux outside of the Boulevards. An asterisk '*' before the zone name indicates streets of Bordeaux, and their name in the list is followed by the character ©.
Idem for '*' with the street name followed by @.
Letters between square brackets represent the abbreviations which follow the name of roads in the streets list :
[A]rtigues, ß=Bouscat (le), [Ba]ssens, [Bo]uliac, [Br]uges, [Ca]daujac, [CB]=Carbon Blanc, [C]enon, [CM]=Camblanes & Meynac, [Cn]=Canéjan, [Cs]=Cestas, [E]ysines, [Eu]=Ste Eulalie, [F]loirac, [G]radignan, [H]aillan (le), [L]ormont, [La] Tresne , [M]érignac, [P]essac, [SM]=St Médard en Jalles, [T]alence., [Ta]illan-Médoc (le), [V]illenave d'Ornon
This option is activated only when the list has been loaded once, which is then displayed almost in the centre under the Streets menu. A click on the zone name hides / unhides the list. When the list is in the centre, 'Enter' or double click centers the image on that street. This menu allows at the same time to free a larger view of the image by placing the list to the left and to display automatically the next street. In that case, see supra : § streets of the zone.
You can type a street name through a dialog box. The name by default is "Place Gambetta", km 0 of Bordeaux mileage. Search is done through the full list and displays the name of the 1st street beginning with the supplied name.
This menu would have no interest as far as the streets list allows a direct input, if the default name was not automatically replaced by the contents of the Clipboard. It becomes then quite easy - without using the keyboard - to display a street whose name was copied in a text file, a diary, a database, or even an Internet page. If the Clipboard contains several street names separated by <Tab> or <Carriage Return>, this menu allows to look for these streets automatically. If the text is in Ascii, you can convert it in Ansi by adding 'ç' after the name.
Search is done over the global list. The resulting list is composed of all the roads containing the search string. This allows to search on a part of a name such as a First name or a Title (,Cdt,Gal,Pdt,Présid) or a category of way (Boulevard, Chem, Pl, Sq). Another advantage over the paper plan !
